The story as it unfolds:

Edmund, who left England in 1630, a stowaway on the Arbella of the John Winthrop sailing to New-England, disembarks the ship Zebulon in Dover. Sydney, enroute Ivinghoe, arranges the purchase of pikes, muskets, and coats of green wool for the regiment of Col. Hampden. Elsewhere, King Charles, having abandoned the Siege of Hull after the attack by Meldrum, marches away.

Hello Hewitt, Enroute (rather preparing to) Bucks with Mr H, that is Col. H, to undertake Recruiting. I hath assigned Paige the procurement of muskets, 300 and powder, shot for same; pikes, 700; coats of Green, using cloths from the Loomworks at Holyfen village, as a contribution to the cause. If you can help the lad with any Legal niceties I would be most grateful, but he is reliable, etc with good head for numbers as you know, so that request for assistance most likely a waste of ink and my time writing and your reading.
